HapiFlo

HapiFlo is an audio-guided yoga app. I co-founded this app in 2017, after creating the concept in Interaction Design earlier that year. I designed the user experience, and developed custom audio content for the app.. HapiFlo uses specific audio-guided cues to guide users through vinyasa yoga flows. Beginners and experts alike can practice taking the gaze inward, anywhere, anytime. We are currently working on an Alexa Skill version of this same service, to support vision-impaired individuals. We are user testing with the San Diego Braille Institute.

This is the home page of our demo, in which the user can think about what they need from their practice, and pick what they need right now. Let’s say you need some strength right now, and you click on the strength tile. You would be taken to the screen below.

It is important to challenge yourself, but yoga is about more than figuring out a handstand. On this page, users can reflect on what their yoga experience, and pick what works for them today. Say we click “I’m just starting!”. This takes us to the page below:

Because this is a demo, we want to see how users interact with the app. Perhaps in the end, this may be the only page they want to see. Right now, some custom Beginner Strength audio cues have started playing from the phone speaker, and the user is enjoying an empowering flow!
