Comparing Sensors for Measuring Heart Rate Variability

Comparing Sensors for Measuring Heart Rate Variability

Presented at demo of Smart Home solutions presented by several labs at UCSD. My role was to test and learn about different options for measuring HRV.

Larry Smarr participating in BCI task

Larry Smarr participated in the smart home demo I worked on. My role was to evaluate various heart rate variability (HRV) sensing technologies. In this image, Larry is wearing a dry EEG cap which is recording his EEG and his heart rate. There are also several infrared cameras pointing at him, the video feeds of which can also be used to determine HRV. My goal was to compare different HRV sensing technologies, and their potential for different types of interventions.
